Aspen boys lose at Grand Valley

Grand Valley protected home court Friday night.

The Aspen High School boys basketball team was the victim, falling 73-52 to the state-ranked Cardinals in a Western Slope League game at Parachute.

The Grand Valley boys improved to 9-2 in league play, 13-3 overall.

Aspen slipped to 3-8 in league, 6-10 overall.

In other boys games in the Western Slope League on Friday night, Coal Ridge won 51-50 at Moffat County and Roaring Fork won 56-55 at Olathe.

In girls basketball, Grand Valley rolled past the Aspen girls 61-27. Mckenna Woodrow scored 10 for the Skiers.

The Grand Valley girls are 13-3. Aspen fell to 1-15.

The Skiers will host rival Basalt next Friday night and Moffat County on Saturday, Feb. 20
