Aspen boys basketball wins eighth game in a row

The Aspen High School boys basketball team, ranked No. 4 in Class 3A by, extended its win streak to eight consecutive games Saturday with a 70-46 road victory at Cedaredge.

“We played some of our best team basketball,” Aspen head coach Steve Ketchum said.

“We had two really strong quarters,” he said after the Skiers improved to 10-2 overall, 9-0 in the Western Slope League.

Trent Lichtenwalter led the way with 23 points. Clayton Crawford scored 18. Evan Patzoldt added 16 for Aspen.

Cedaredge fell to 6-8, 4-7.

The Skiers will host Roaring Fork on Tuesday and travel to Basalt on Wednesday to make up Friday’s game, which was postponed because of the storm.
