AHS basketball loses twice to Delta

The Aspen High School boys basketball team lost its second straight game Thursday, falling 61-40 at Delta. The Skiers had won four straight — beating Middle Park, Lake County, Moffat County and Olathe — before a 55-37 loss at Gunnison last week.

At 8-6, Aspen still remains two games above .500 with only five games remaining. The Skiers will host Grand Valley tonight and Coal Ridge on Feb. 10. AHS also has games at Cedaredge and Basalt to play before finishing up at home against Roaring Fork.

The Aspen girls, who finish out with the same schedule, lost 44-22 at Delta on Thursday, falling to 1-13 overall.

The Basalt High School basketball teams play tonight at Roaring Fork.
