Aspen basketball camp for kids next week

The final Aspen Basketball Academy Camp of the summer will be held next week.

The camps will run from Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Aspen High School.

The camp is open for the full week or for single-day drop-ins.

The camp is for boys and girls entering grades kindergarten through eighth grade.

“There will be lots of skill work, competitions, games and, most importantly, fun,” said Steve Ketchum, director of the camp.

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

“Drop-ins are welcome each day, but we encourage everyone to register online at,” said Ketchum, the longtime boys basketball coach at Aspen High School who retired after last season. Ketchum is continuing to operate the Aspen Basketball Academy, including foreign basketball trips.

Day fee is $75 for the camp at the AHS gymnasium.
