Aspen baseball rolls over Rangely twice

The Aspen High School baseball team opened its season Saturday at Rangely, coming away with a convincing two-game sweep of the Panthers.

The Skiers won the first game 26-2. It was 6-0 after two innings before AHS scored 11 in the third and nine in the fourth.

Game two finished 15-4, Aspen scoring seven runs in the second inning.

Aspen (2-0), which went 6-11 a season ago, is next scheduled to host Basalt High School on Tuesday. Tuesday’s game will be Basalt’s season opener. The Longhorns went 7-11 last season.
