Annual Sopris Runoff returns on July 25

The annual Sopris Runoff will return with the annual Carbondale Mountain Fair.

Race organizers announced that the 14-mile Sopris Runoff this year will be held on Saturday, July 25.

The race, which starts at 7:30 a.m., will go from the Emma school to Sopris Park in downtown Carbondale.

There also is a Four Mile to Fair race that will begin at 7:15 a.m. at Sopris Park. Actually, the bus will depart Sopris Park at 7:15 a.m. to take runners to the start of the 4-mile race (which will start at 7:45 a.m.)

Entry fee is $30 in advance, $40 on race day.

Proceeds will benefit the Carbondale Council on Art and Humanities.

The race is organized by Independence Run and Hike in Carbondale.
