The Trashmasters is finally legal.

The charity golf tournament, which has a unique set of rules that award points for trash events in a round of golf and has raised $1.5 million in college scholarships for local students, has its 21st event on Aug. 1 and 2.

The Trashmasters kicks off with a party on Aug. 1 at the Black Saddle restaurant in the Snowmass Club, and the tournament is Aug. 2 at the club course. CBS and Fox Sports are covering the sold-out event, according to a statement.

This year’s honorees are Jack Kennedy, of Challenge Aspen, recipient of the Jan Rifkin Outstanding Volunteer Award; Greg and Ripley Thomas, recipients of the Leonard Green Most Distinguished Trashmasters Award; and Garen “Longknocker” Draper, winner of the Victor A. Coopersmith Most Exotic Trash Award.

“Draper had a colossal trash combo at the 2012 event as he made a ‘Skippie,’ ‘Rockie,’ ‘Sandie,’ ‘Otis,’ ‘Birdie,’ ‘Polie’ on the par-5 hole No. 1,” the statement said.

Reid Walker will be recognized with the Ambassador Extraordinaire Award.

The 2013 Hall of Fame inductees include Tom and Mary James, John and Lee Suarez, and actor Robert Wagner. For more information, visit
