Springtime renewal

As the snow melts and spring emerges in the mountains, so do the construction projects — at least they did in May 1986. The Snowmass Village Mall received a facelift with the help of Kehrig Painting and Decorating Co., a reorganization of tenants and a new retail store. The whole north side was gutted; spaces were reapportioned and opened up for a new restaurant called The Grill on the Park. Other changes included the move of the children’s shop Short Sports downstairs, La Maison d’Arts upstairs and Stein’s Little Shop down the way.

Editor’s note: This page is a partnership between the Snowmass Sun and the Aspen Historical Society with

two primary goals in mind: to improve the knowledge of Snowmass history in the region and to collect historical photographs

of the Snowmass region for the society. If you have pieces of history to donate, please send them to

archives@aspenhistory.org or call 970-925-3721.
