Snowmass Mayor Markey Butler to retire from HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley

Snowmass Mayor Markey Butler is retiring from her other job as executive director of HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley.
A registered nurse with nearly 50 years of experience, Butler founded HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley in 2008.
Throughout her nearly five-decade tenure, Butler has served on several home health and hospice boards and is currently a chairwoman on the Hospice and Palliative Care Organization of the Rockies.
Butler also is involved with other local boards, including those of the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority, public health and Jazz Aspen Snowmass.
An avid hiker who summited Mount Kilimanjaro at age 60, Butler anticipates more time on the trails in her retirement, and continuing to lead the town as mayor for the next two years.
