Twenty-five to 30 artisans and craftsmen displayed and sold their wares along the Snowmass Mall via the village’s summer arts and crafts fair in 1978. Artisans visited the four-series fair from all over Colorado, including Manitou Springs, Boulder and Cotopaxi. Locals also joined the fair as a way for Snowmass Village to increase vitality during the summer months. The fair featured everything from batik and whimsical handcrafted stoneware to handmade leather belts and artistically designed necklaces.
