Snowmass Fire Calls

Staff report

The Snowmass-Wildcat Fire Protection District responded to the following calls from May 12 to 17.

May 12

• Gas alarm at a residence on East Fork Lane. The cause of the alarm was construction crews using chemicals. No dangerous gas was detected.

• Automatic fire alarm at an apartment on Club Commons Circle. The cause of the alarm was a cooking error.

May 14

• Medical call at a residence at 5115 Owl Creek Road. One patient was evaluated for a bleeding nose. The patient refused further treatment and transportation to Aspen Valley Hospital.

May 15

• Mutual aid requested by Basalt Fire Department for a structure fire in Sopris Village. The crew assisted with salvage and overhaul.

• Automatic fire alarm at an apartment on Timbers Club Court. The cause of the alarm was a cooking error.

• Automatic fire alarm at a residence on Divide Drive. The cause of the alarm was a cooking error.

May 16

• Automatic fire alarm at an apartment on Club Commons Circle. The cause of the alarm was a cooking error.

May 17

• Carbon monoxide alarm at 600 Carriage Way the Aspenwood Condos. No carbon monoxide was detected. The cause of the alarm was a dead battery in the CO detector. Crew replaced the battery and reset the alarm.

• Fire call to a residence on Pinto Circle. Crew assisted the Snowmass Village Police Department with placing a ladder to the balcony to they could investigate an open door.

• Automatic fire alarm at residence on Steller Lane. The cause of the alarm was determined to be a system malfunction as there was no smoke or fire located.
