Slideshow: Camp Smashbox Junior Firefighter Camp
Adam Gilbert/Special to the Snowmass Sun |
Camp Smashbox, in partnership with Snowmass Wildcat Fire Department, presented a week of “Smashboxey” activities to expose young ones to the world of firefighting June 20 through 24. They participated in a boot camp, fire simulations, challenges and obstacle courses, and they learned the inner workings of firetrucks, fire hoses and a simulated smoke trailer. Campers learned about teamwork while relying on one another under the direction of real firefighters. The participants were inducted as junior firefighters and received a certificate and badge at the end of the week.
