Ski for the Cure is March 8 in Snowmass

The Ski for the Cure will be held March 8 at Snowmass Mountain, organizers announced Monday.

Participants are encouraged to hit the slopes decked in pink attire in honor or remembrance of those who are fighting or who have fought breast cancer.

Participants will be identified with pink arm bands and receive discounts at participating Aspen Skiing Co. on-mountain restaurants and tickets for giveaways. Discounted runs will be offered to those who enter the race at the NASTAR course, set for 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

An apres ski party will be held from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. for locals, survivors, skiers and friends, and awards will be presented to top fundraising teams and individuals, as well as the fastest NASTAR skiers and the best pink ensembles.

Registration is open until March 7 at www. Tickets start at $45 for adults and $25 for youth (17 and under) and include a voucher for a discounted lift ticket, admission to the apres party, one ticket for giveaways and a free Ski-Z from SkiJunk.

Proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen Colorado.
