Singing in the rain
Nothing but a little rain, right?
A late-afternoon thunderstorm forced organizers of the Snowmass Mammoth Fest to evacuate Town Park after the beer grand tasting on Saturday, rescheduling Jamestown Revival’s performance for later that night in Base Village. But when the weather cleared, the gates reopened, and many of the approximately 2,000 ticket holders that day returned to close out the park with Greensky Bluegrass.
Festival organizers honored Saturday tickets the following day, so revelers who missed the end of the night after the weather hit could enjoy another day in the park. The weather held, and the Wheels of Soul Tour, a partnership between Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings and Tedeschi Trucks Band, brought down the house.
About 1,800 tickets were sold for Sunday’s festivities.
