Ranch for rent
“For Rent-A well cultivated, well watered ranch on Brush Creek, M. Askins’ ranch. Inquire of M. Madden,” announced The Aspen Times classified section on May 31, 1894. While ranching was not an easy task, many moved to the area in hopes of making a living off the land. Pictured here are three ranches labeled (although not in order) as the Tom Burke, Miles Carroll and Owen Kearns ranches, which were all situated along Brush Creek.
