Online rental shop opening location in Westin Snowmass

The Westin Snowmass Resort, a slopeside hotel in the heart of Snowmass Village, has launched the new year with the opening of a Gold Service shop on the mall level of the Westin.

On, guests can order equipment online and pick it up at any of the company’s resort locations. The company also delivers. Its website says that is the largest rental-equipment provider in North America, with more than 90 shops in 19 resorts.

The Snowmass shop is the most recent addition to the Gold network. The Gold service offers skiers and snowboarders their choice of equipment from premier brands and new models of high-end demo gear, combined with personal concierge service.

A quick click into the bindings in the slopeside shop to confirm settings is all that is required before skiers and snowboarders are out the door, according to a statement. A fresh tuning and wax are provided on the first rental day, and guests can exchange their equipment as often as desired as snow conditions or skill level changes. Guests also can arrange for a private in-room boot fitting.

At the end of the rental day, the Westin’s ski valets provide complimentary overnight indoor storage for boards and boots in the space adjacent to the Gold Service room. Boots are kept on dryers each night for warmth, ease and comfort the next morning.

“Traveling with ski and snowboard equipment can be expensive and challenging these days,” said Tim Johnson, director of sales and marketing for the Westin Snowmass. “We want to take convenience to the next level by making our guest experience as seamless as possible. We are very excited about our new premium demo services offered through Gold because our guests can now have a hassle-free rental experience, ride the hottest new gear available and take advantage of professional, personalized service.”

For guests visiting other Aspen-area resorts during their Snowmass stay, there is also complimentary transfer of equipment from Snowmass to Aspen.
