Letter: Wine Fest to benefit nonprofits

On behalf of the Rotary Club of Snowmass Village, I’d like to invite community members and visitors to our signature event: the 2015 Snowmass Wine Festival. On Friday, we’ll host our annual four-course wine dinner at the Viceroy Snowmass at 6:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “New Zealand — Beyond Sauvignon Blanc.”

Please also join us Sept. 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Town Park for the Grand Tasting, to feature a vast variety of top wines, cuisine from some of the Roaring Fork Valley’s best restaurants, live music, a silent auction and more.

Rotary International is a 1.2 million-member international service organization whose purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and advance goodwill and peace around the world.

All funds raised by our local club are allocated to nonprofit organizations across the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. Locally, we support a wide range of organizations including but not limited to: Alpine Legal Services, Aspen Hope Center, Challenge Aspen, Homecare and Hospice of the Valley, Little Red Schoolhouse, Roaring Fork Conservancy, Valley Partnership for Drug Prevention and Windwalkers. We also provide college and vocational scholarships to local students.

Additionally, we support several international humanitarian projects. I am especially motivated by our support of BlinkNow (Nepal) and Borjan Children’s Fund (the Philippines) — two impressive organizations with Snowmass residents on the ground making a difference.

Please join us for the 2015 Snowmass Wine Festival — a marquee Snowmass event. Details and tickets at http://www.snowmasswinefestival.com.
