Letter: Proud to be a Villager this week

Congratulations to everyone involved with the Snowmass Wine Festival and Snowmass Balloon Festival. Despite marginal weather, the Rotary Club of Snowmass pulled off an incredible event on Sept. 14, and the turnout was, as always, outstanding. Although the balloons didn’t fly that morning due to rain, the evening glow on Fanny Hill was a smash hit, and Sunday morning’s magnificent sunrise provided all onlookers with a true Rocky Mountain high. Calling all grape heads! We actually saw people from Aspen in attendance. Perhaps the Snowmass Wine Festival will rival Aspen’s Food & Wine Classic someday, especially with all that easy, free parking at Town Park. Furthermore, having it at the end of the summer season is perfect timing. Special kudos to Barbara Bakios-Wickes for organizing the Snowmass Wine Festival, bringing together 35 vintners and all of those awesome restaurants. Proud to be a Villager.
