History: He’s safe

“After losing its opening round game to Woodrun Place, the Snowmass club softball team came back through the loser’s bracket to catch up with Woodrun in the championship game and earn last weekend’s tournament title in Snowmass Village,” The Aspen Times reported in August 1986. On Sunday, after five games and having split the first two games Saturday, they had the championship when they defeated Woodrun 14-10 and forced a play-off in which “the Club pocketed a 7-0 shootout win.” Image shows umpire Seth Necamp calling the runner safe during the Snowmass Club verses Woodrun game.
