History: ‘Beer toasts and smiles’

“It was beer toasts and smiles at Snowmass-at-Aspen last week in celebration of the rate of work on the Snowmass Inn,” noted The Aspen Times on June 22, 1967. “Mr. and Mrs. Art Preusch are the lodge’s prime owners. They also own the Norway lodge in Aspen. While the Snowmass Inn was the most completed lodge project at the time, Snowmass Building Development Director Don Davidson was overseeing the construction of five lodges, commercial building space, residential houses and two condominium projects in anticipation of opening day Dec. 15, 1967.
