Haute Route cycling race makes stop in Snowmass

Dubbed “the world’s most prestigious multi-day events for amateur riders,” the Haute Route will make a stop in Snowmass today.

Competitors will arrive in Base Village from Avon via Independence Pass as part of the race’s sixth stage.

On Thursday, cyclists will take off to Crested Butte.

The more than 500-mile race kicked off in Boulder on June 24 and will end in Colorado Springs on June 30.

Stage 1: Boulder to Boulder (loop route)

Stage 2: Boulder to Winter Park

Stage 3: Winter Park to Avon

Stage 4: Avon to Avon (individual time trial)

Stage 5: Avon to Snowmass Village

Stage 6: Snowmass Village to Crested Butte

Stage 7: Colorado Springs to Colorado Springs (loop route will start and finish at Garden of the Gods)
