Candidates file for Snowmass mayor, council seats
Editor’s note: This story has been updated since the print edition of the Snowmass Sun was published on Aug. 20.
As of Aug. 19, six candidates had filed affidavits to run for Snowmass Village elected positions in November.
Councilwoman Markey Butler, Councilman Jason Haber, and former Councilman Arnold Mordkin have filed to run for mayor. Mayor Bill Boineau, term-limited this year, Bill Madsen and Bob Sirkus are running for the two available council positions.
In addition, Peter Henrshberger and Reed Lewis, another former councilman, have taken out applications to run for council.
Candidates must file their petitions with the Town Clerk by Aug. 25. Election Day is Nov. 4.
Snowmass Village hosts fundraiser for longtime resident’s cancer treatment
Snowmass Village will host a fundraiser Dec. 14 to support longtime resident Jason Neilson, who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
