Business As Usual: Get your Daly Om
Editor’s Note: Business as Usual is a series highlighting local businesses in Snowmass Village. It is published weekly in the Snowmass Sun.
In honor of the return of Wanderlust Aspen Snowmass this week, we thought we’d recognize one of our local yogis. Staci Stokes discovered yoga in 1996 and opened Daly Om in 2012.
Snowmass Sun: How did your business start?
Staci Stokes: I had been teaching yoga at the Snowmass Chapel for about 10 years. They went through a remodel, and I needed to find a new space to hold classes. I was able to find the perfect spot in the Offices at Snowmass. We began the remodel and were finished in three weeks, and Daly Om was up and running.
Snowmass Sun: What services or goods do you sell?
Staci Stokes: I teach several yoga classes per week, hold workshops and extra classes periodically. Sometimes other visiting teachers come in and do classes or workshops. I also offer private single or group classes and guided hikes with a yoga session afterwards. JoBody Pilates also does private Pilates sessions in the studio. I have a small amount of awesome seaweed-based creams and a couple of wonderful supplements to boost the immune system.
Snowmass Sun: What makes your business unique?
Staci Stokes: Daly Om is unique in that I keep classes consistent year-round. Many yoga teachers travel; I happen to love it here and I think people enjoy a schedule they know is the same. I only use or ingest the best products, so that is what I sell to people.
Snowmass Sun: Who is your primary clientele?
Staci Stokes: Most of my clientele are locals or second-home owners who come for long periods of time. I also have some wonderful tourists that find the studio when they are here.
Snowmass Sun: What is the best thing about running a business in Snowmass?
Staci Stokes: The best thing about running a business in Snowmass is that I am able to live and work here in the village.
