Ballot set for S’mass mayoral, council races
The race is on for three elected positions on Snowmass Village Town Council.
Monday was the deadline for candidates to file nomination petitions, and six people returned the forms to run either for mayor or Town Council.
The candidates for mayor are Markey Butler, Jason Haber and Arnold Mordkin. Nominees for Town Council positions are Bill Boineau, Bill Madsen and Bob Sirkus.
Peter Henrshberger and Reed Lewis also took out applications to run but did not return nomination petitions Monday.
Two council seats are opening up in November: Haber’s and that of Fred Kucker, who has chosen not to run for re-election. Boineau currently serves as mayor but is term-limited.
Election Day is Nov. 4.
