What’s happening?

Dear Editor:What’s happening? I cannot figure out what is happening in this country by this government representation. It’s like a major turnaround; everything we accomplished and worked toward is disintegrating. I remember that oil shortage in the ’70s. I remember the push to conserve, the innovative and creative looking for other sources of energy and the advances that came about. What happened to those sources – solar, wind, water, ethanol, even electric? Do we look to expanding on these sources? No, we drill into our landscape and fill the pockets of a few while showing no regard to God’s land. What’s happening? As little as four years ago we suffered serious losses in the stock market, we had disclosed abuses come to light, and here we are looking at this lethal system as the savior of Social Security. What’s happening?Corporations are merging into conglomerates and monopolies and no one says a thing. Corporations are outsourcing our jobs and are no longer paying towards Social Security for their employees (remember the employer pays a portion of your Social Security). What’s happening? We were talking about national health care and now we are denying those who suffer from the inability to pay their medical bills (insurance or not) a way out. What’s happening? We had a media system that acted as society’s watchdog and now we have a big public relations campaign for the current administration taking that dog’s place.
