Stiller: Support for Shenk

I am writing to endorse Alyssa Shenk Genshaft for the Mayor of Snowmass. I have known Alyssa for more than a decade and have worked with her on many projects. She is an excellent listener especially when topics are emotional or contentious.
When Aspen School District replaced its former superintendent, Shenk gathered data and feedback from parents and staff to support the change. In a room of charged feelings, Shenk stood firm and calm. Whether it be healthy meals at school or advocating for Jewish students through policy at ASD, Shenk is sensible, measured, and trustworthy.
She will bring stronger leadership which in turn will lead to a stronger community. Between the future workforce housing projects, important infrastructure projects as it relates to transit and roads, and the Little Red School House development, Snowmass has a lot on its plate in the coming years. Shenk brings the leadership needed to ensure the council works effectively as a group and makes decisions in the best interests of the community.

Nearly 500,000 pounds of concrete dropped by helicopter for new Snowmass lift
Helicopters shouldn’t fly. That would be the takeaway if one was faced with a multi-ton Black Hawk — known by its owners as “The Lorax” — hovering overhead with 4,000 pounds of concrete in its grasp, its blades kicking up 35-mile-per hour winds and turning an otherwise pleasant summer morning into a violent, stick-ensued dust bowl.
