Schultz: Calling for support for Eagle County Commission candidate

Eagle County voters will soon receive ballots for a county commissioner primary that will be completed on June 25. I am writing to encourage Eagle voters to support Tom Boyd in his bid to join the commission as Kathy Chandler-Henry retires.

Tom Boyd has the right life experiences to serve Eagle County residents. He was born and raised in Eagle County, has been a local newspaper editor, soccer and youth hockey coach, worked on the Eagle County Climate Action Plan, served on the Eagle County Wildlife Roundtable, and on the Board of the Eagle River Coalition.

Tom Boyd also served on the staff of Glenwood Springs-based Community Builders and is currently chair of their board. I know from speaking with him that he is interested in advancing affordable housing, partnering with Basalt on common issues, and strengthening local communities.

Ideally, a Roaring Fork Valley resident will someday serve on the Eagle County Commission, in the meantime, I would urge you to vote for Tom Boyd to represent our interests. I found him to be very approachable and he has offered more about his perspective at: https://www.tomboydforeaglecounty.com/.

Primary ballots may be mailed but the easiest thing is to drop them at the 24-hour ballot box at the Eagle County building in El Jebel at Crown Mountain Park.
