Mesirow: Doyle listens, does the work

When John Doyle first ran for Aspen City Council, I didn’t vote for him. That was a mistake. This time, I’m excited to vote for him. Here’s why:

During my time in city leadership, I worked with many people, and John was my favorite. He listens to everyone, has a giant heart, and is unwaveringly committed to Aspen. He does not seek the spotlight or talk endlessly about himself or others. He just does the work.

John has the rare ability to stand firm on principles (he will be the strongest leader on the environment every time) while also being open to changing his mind when new evidence presents itself (the bridge). That’s precisely what we need in our elected officials — not someone who agrees with us on every issue but someone who shows up, does the work, listens, and always puts the people of Aspen first.

I’m voting for John Doyle this time and will vote for him again in the future. I encourage you to do the same.
