Markalunas: You have to be rich to live in this town
Many years ago, while in Wyoming attending a water conference, I met a gentleman who confused Aspen with Afton, Wyo.
When advised of his mistake, he commented: “You’re from Aspen? You must be rich!” Yes indeed! You have to be rich to live in this town!
Just look at your most recent tax and insurance bills, and you will concur that only the rich can live here! Should you fall behind in your payments, I suggest you consider running for a county commissioner’s seat! They seem to be the ones who can afford to live here, as they deliberate at each meeting on how to spend your tax money.
I suggest, if you can’t afford to pay your property taxes, run for a commissioner seat. That’s where the money is!
