Macys: Turn out for Doyle

Aspen’s recent municipal election highlighted the strong support that John Doyle already has from his constituents in Aspen. As the top vote-getter in the city council race, he fell shy of re-election by only 31 votes. That is less than 1%. Almost a rounding error.
But Aspen voters have another chance. Please turn out in the runoff election and support him. He has my support because he is the type of servant-leader who truly puts his constituents first. In addition, he is willing and able, even eager, to learn from missteps. He internalizes these as opportunities for personal growth.
I first met John through the Colorado Association of Ski Towns (CAST). At that time, I was serving as a Steamboat Springs City Council member. At present, I serve as a Routt County Commissioner. CAST meetings present an opportunity for elected officials in ski towns across North America to learn from one another, share successes and failures, and seek out best practices that we can bring back to our communities. He has always represented Aspen in the most humble and genuine of ways. He consistently strives to learn from others as we tackle the most wicked problems that face ski towns: affordable housing, childcare, and ensuring that the environment that residents and tourists alike are here to experience is not sacrificed in the name of growth.
Aspen is consistently well-represented by him. He is the real deal. Aspen is fortunate to have a candidate as solid as John Doyle. I know he’d appreciate your vote.
