What if the roles were reversed?

I read with some intrigue that (future Pitkin County commissioner) Kelly McNicholas Kury wanted a woman to get the empty seat and, try as I may, I can’t see any reason why a woman can do the job better than a man. I can only imagine the furor if the tables were turned, and an applicant thought a man could do the job better than a woman.

In the interests of transparency, I am a straight, white, single, grateful, immigrant male.
