The invisible Torre no match for Hauenstein
In reporting on local election results, The Aspen Times said that not much separated Ward Hauenstein and Torre during the campaign. With respect, Ward towers above Torre in several respects, namely:
Ward has been actively engaged in major city issues for years yet has never been on council. Ward has worked hard at analyzing and understanding the issues, showing up at council meetings, and offering fresh ideas. Torre appears only when campaigning for office; otherwise he’s invisible.
Ward has suggested novel solutions to workforce housing challenges and the needs of small business owners. Torre has not.
Ward has decades of experience operating a successful local business; he knows the issues facing other local businesses. Torre has not and does not.
Many elements of their personal lives distinguish the two. These include married for decades to a pillar of our local schools (Ward), reared two successful children (Ward), and active church membership (Ward).
There is a choice. Mine is Ward.
