Pitkin County voting 101
November 1, 2017
Almost 13,000 active Pitkin County registered voters were mailed a ballot on Oct. 16 for the Nov. 7 election. The U.S. Postal Services will not forward a mail ballot, and it is too late for the Pitkin County Election office to mail a new ballot.
Didn't receive your ballot? Don't worry! You still have plenty of options for voting in the 2017 coordinated election.
Vote in-person during early voting and on Election Day at the Aspen Jewish Community Center at 435 W. Main St. in Aspen, now through Nov. 7th. The AJCC hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and again from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The voter service and polling center at the Jewish Community Center also will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. In addition to voting in person, you may register to vote, update your registration information, request a replacement mail ballot, or drop off your voted ballot.
The Pitkin County Election office at 501 E. Hyman Ave. is open during the same hours as the Jewish center and can provide you with all of the above services except in-person voting. Also, the Election Office recommends that you drop off your mail ballot at our office or the voter service and polling center during the hours above versus mailing it to assure your ballot is received on or before 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Two 24/7 drop boxes with surveillance are available to the Pitkin County electorate, one outside of Snowmass Village Town Hall at 130 Kearn Road and the other outside Basalt Town Hall at 101 Midland Ave. All ballots received by 7 p.m. on Election Day will be processed!
If you have an interest in voting in this election, but may have questions about your eligibility or ability to do so, please don't hesitate to contact the Elections Office at 970-429-2732 or visit http://www.pitkinvotes.com.
