People won’t make the switch to bikes

Mike Stopler's letter in the March 6 Aspen Times ("Council overstepping boundaries on parking") says it all. It is time for the mayor and the Aspen City Council to stop shoving this no-car business in the face of our visitors. Diners in high heels and long dresses are not going to ride a stupid bicycle to dinner. Nor are seniors who have aging joints and cannot ride a bicycle. Aspen's clientele base consists of people who drive their cars to the downtown area. They do not like buses and prefer their own auto. Let's accommodate them, not make it more difficult.
