Not your money to spend, Aspen councilors

The members of the Aspen City Council have well-reasoned the financing for the new city offices.

First, it is not their money so why should they care if it costs more?

Second, they are justified in not trusting the judgment of Aspen voters; after all, those same people are the ones who elected them to office.
