New rules taxing on employees

James Wingers’ letter “Housing rules are there for a reason” (The Aspen Times, Aug. 14) found Howard Moglewer’s criticism of APCHA and the employee housing regulations unconvincing. I come down on Moglewer’s side. You don’t need to be a card-carrying Libertarian to find prior approval of roommates a bit intrusive. Further, his desire to “gain ground’ seems pretty reasonable. The employee housing rules keep growing and seem like the Pitkin County version of the Internal Revenue Code. New fines and heavy-handed enforcement would make an IRS agent proud. Sorry Howard, the APCHA giveth and the APCHA taketh away. Apparently only greedy employees are thinking about gaining ground.
