Letter: Vote against stagnation

Vote against stagnation

Aspen, an exciting dynamic place of diversity and innovation, is always close to my heart. This town, more than any other place in the world, has always been on the cutting edge of greatness. Aspen is the envy of many cities in the world. Aspen has been a special place from when the silver mines were massively productive to Aspen’s standing as the premier winter playground and the meeting place of the sharpest minds on the planet.

Our infrastructure has supported our residents’ lifestyles and our visitors’ needs. As Aspen ages, there is need for renovation and renewal. Stagnation and decay are not beneficial to our community.

Our representative democracy has always been difficult to work with; however, the system that is in place gives businesses a chance for renewal.

Let your elected officials and the educated city staff do their jobs. If you do not agree with them, then let them know at City Council meetings and when they come up for re-election.

Please vote “no” on Referendum 1.
