Letter: Turning ‘enrichment’ into a relative term

It seems the proponents of the Base2 Lodge are championing long-term community enrichment as a positive effect of the project. Perhaps it is enriching simply because the alternative is degrading. Alas, the youth must get out and vote, for we have the right to choose between more construction or more construction! I'm guessing 65 percent of the potential millennial (non)voters will disperse elsewhere within the next decade. Twenty-five percent will move downvalley in order to raise a family, and 10 percent will stay to ripen to the age of Aspen voters. During the next great recession, the 10 percent might vote to enrich the lot with a downtown community garden. But let us not worry ourselves with something that far away.
