Letter: Thanks for supporting English in Action

On Sunday, March 13, English in Action tutors and students came together on Aspen Mountain to enjoy a morning of snowshoeing and camaraderie. This annual program, supported by both the Aspen Skiing Company and the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, allows tutors and their students to come together for a fun and educational activity. Each year The Skico provides the gondola tickets that make it all possible, while ACES provides the snowshoes and a team of bilingual naturalists for the 1½-hour tour of Richmond Ridge.

English in Action, founded 20 years ago, works to “strengthen the quality of life for everyone in our community by helping adults learn to read, write and speak English and by building cross-cultural relationships.” Tutor/student pairs join together to meet this goal, forging strong bonds and a true sense of community. Activities such as the snowshoe tour support this mission.

If you would like more information about English in Action, or want to become a tutor and be a community-builder, you can find more information at englishinaction.org.

Thanks again to the Aspen Skiing Company and the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies for supporting English in Action and our community by providing this opportunity.
