Letter: Thank you for helping Hospice
The volunteers, board and staff of HomeCare and Hospice of the Valley wish to thank sincerely all the local businesses and individuals who donated funds, facilities, auction items, food and drink to our recent Savour the Journey event. Our gathering at The Limelight in Aspen on Aug. 30 was a tremendously successful evening that raised more than $25,000 for hospice care in the Roaring Fork Valley.
We are especially grateful to all of the staff at The Limelight for providing us with an inviting space for attendees to mingle, chat and win bottles of fantastic wine. We also wish to thank those who planned this year’s event, including Chairwoman Jean Moore, Carol Dresser and Jodi Hecht as well as our tireless volunteers who organized and staged this wonderful evening, including Roger and Sandy Yost, Brad and Debbie Geisler, Kelly Cipponeri and Mary Lou Farrell. Thanks, too, to Aspen Interior Plantscapes for providing flowers.
We want to give special thanks to our sponsors who made this event possible, including our presenting sponsor Alpine Bank, Roaring Fork Liquors, Aspen Valley Hospital, Related Colorado, Oates, Knezewich, Gardenschwarts & Morrow, arfield & Hecht, Obermeyer Wood Investments, Wendy Lucas and Lowe Enterprises. Finally, to the dozens of businesses and people who donated wine and silent-auction items to the event, you have our heartfelt gratitude.
Hospice of the Valley is the only provider of end-of-life care in this region. From Aspen to Vail to Parachute and all points in between, our nurses, aides, therapists, chaplains, social workers and volunteers care for those who are dying, as well as their families. We will never turn away a patient because of inability to pay, and events such as Savour the Journey help fund this commitment. Thank you.
Executive director, HomeCare and Hospice of the Valley
