Letter: Thank you, Aspen

I recently had the honor of serving as chairwoman of Theatre Aspen’s Hot! Hot! Hot! gala and fundraiser. At this year’s sold-out event, we celebrated everything hot about Theatre Aspen. As always, it was an unforgettable evening full of excitement, brilliant costumes, passionate Theatre Aspen supporters and lots of money raised for a deserving organization. This event was the most successful to date, and the funds raised will go directly to support Theatre Aspen’s productions and educational initiatives. I never cease to be amazed and impressed by the generosity of local businesses and individuals in Aspen who enthusiastically contribute year after year to such a great cause.

The success of this spectacular event would not be possible without the combined efforts of an army of selfless individuals. First and foremost, I would like to thank my gala committee, which volunteered countless hours collecting auction items and contributing great ideas while spreading the word to their friends and colleagues about what a phenomenal event we host. I would also like to thank the Hotel Jerome and its superb staff for providing us with the best venue ever, excellent food and impeccable service. Finally, I would like to thank the small but mighty Theatre Aspen staff, who always manage to coordinate all the thousands of details that go into launching a massive event like this. They are rock stars!

Finally, I am deeply grateful for the support of our amazing gala sponsors, who year in and year out, are champions of Theatre Aspen, including; Melanie Sturm and Marc Zachary, ANB Bank, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Christie’s and Aspen Magazine, with additional support from Wendy Blakeslee of Mountain Flowers.

From the bottom of my Theatre Aspen heart, thank you Aspen for keeping Theatre Aspen strong. We promise to continue to educate our children with the magic of theater and dazzle you with our amazing theater productions.
