Stop means stop

Re: “Council allows bicycists in Aspen to yield at stop signs” (The Aspen Times, June 24):

I have two questions about this ordinance: One, if it works for bicyclists, why would it not work for cars? Same concept, is it not? Two, when a cyclist goes (“carefully”) thru a red, octagonal “Yield” sign and gets plowed down by a car that’s driving completely legally (or if it’s not entirely clear), who gets the blame?
