Letter: Softball against cancer
In the past two years, as many of us, I have lost several longtime friends to cancer, and they all lived from Aspen to Carbondale. The 2015 Roaring Fork Valley American Cancer Society Relay for Life is coming up, and one of the major fundraisers is a coed softball tournament. I was told that Glenwood Springs takes softball very seriously, and that is why all the teams are from downvalley. I would like to put out a call to play in honor and memory of those whom we have lost to cancer and ask the upper-valley softball enthusiasts to enlist a team to show our support. There is no such thing as a lost game when funds and community awareness have been increased for the help of cancer survivors and the fight against cancer.
