Letter: Self-study for seamstresses
Recently I attended the Garfield County Republican Party luncheon at Vic’s in Glenwood Springs, where Garfield County GOP Chairman David Merritt presided over the meeting and the debaters, John “Wyatt” Martin, Garfield County Board of Commissioners chairman, and tyro challenger Aron Diaz.
With Martin’s business and economic philosophy and methodology in mind, I would like to advise the Colorado Mountain College Rifle campus seamstress program graduates to hit the library to read up on and study about clothing factories and the fashion industry on their own to ready themselves for better future seizing of chances for themselves.
The smart women among the seamstress graduates will learn as much as they can about how the garment industry and fashion industry do things in our country and around the world. Smart workers can and will earn and do more when things converge for them in Garfield County.
Be intelligent, and hit those books on your own. Show yourselves and others you have initiative and ambitions to work and succeed beyond the ordinary people living around you. Learn to run a clothing factory now.
Seamstresses, I’ve got your backs covered.
So for now, you will find me at the indoor mall where Ross and J.C. Penney are in Glenwood Springs. Think of Rodeo Drive Committee co-founder Fred Hayman when you show up, and you’ll find me there. It’s like magic!
