Scammed at the X Games

We are the parents of some athletes who competed in the recent X Games. We rented a house in the downtown core that turned out to be a scam. The police and a fraud squad from the bank are now tracking “Shawn Sullivan.” Apparently, this is not the first time this house has been used by Shawn in such a scam, and it is still posted on Craigslist despite our email to it advising it of the scam.

If not for the kindness of Theresa O’Keefe Klein, of Caldwell Banker Mason Morse, and her client who rented us their house in our hour of need, we would have been scrambling to find beds. Theresa went out of her way to help us at the 11th hour and find us a home for the week. She had initially made some calls and within half an hour was able to confirm our suspicions about the house we initially rented: We had been duped. That house had been sold in the summer of 2013 and is currently undergoing major renovations. Another agent in her office had clients who also had been taken by Shawn.

Theresa is our Aspen angel! Theresa, thanks for saving the day, and thank you for restoring our faith in humankind!
