Letter: Prosperity ahead
If all kicks in by late 2016 or 2017, then the major construction projects will begin to roll out in assembly line fashion like Rolls-Royce automobiles.
We have the new Aspen municipal government complex, the new Pitkin County government building and renovation, the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport redevelopment and the new St. Mary Catholic Church addition. These four building projects’ convergent timing will guarantee at least a solid seven years of labor and professional job prosperity along with their employing firms. This forecast still holds if our national economy comes tumbling down because of the five- to 10-year estimated construction range these combined projects will come under.
The reason for this thinking is that the money for them will be locked in to spend. Also, they will be in overlapping start-up time periods. This will create an employment and business community surge. Now, smart American workers living in Pitkin County, who are unemployed or who work two or three jobs, can work for one good-paying job via what these planned important real estate upgrades will offer them.
I advise the American workforce in Pitkin County to attend future meeting about these four wonderful opportunities for them to earn a better income stream, be much happier and get themselves wired into the possible businesses that will be directly and indirectly involved in these foreseen money-making undertakings. Hook on the coming creme de la creme jobs, salaries and wages American workers. Why let others beat you to the punch and laugh at you all the way to the bank?
If you are filthy rich or have several sources of income coming to you from private and/or government spigots, don’t be mean and selfish in trying to halt and undermine the future incomes and happiness of deserving American workers who are far less than greedy you. Stop misleading folks. You’ve got yours; let others get theirs. Stop your naughty pretenses! Stand up like real Americans and get your piece of the American pie in Aspen and Pitkin County. Don’t
roll over like dead roaches.
