Proposing a different cycling solution for Castle Creek Road

Having lived on Castle Creek Road for more than 45 years, I have always been concerned about bicycles on the road between the hospital and the music school. I read with interest the article on the revival of the bike path and wanted to propose another option for consideration. Given that half of the bicyclists will never use the bike path, I would propose that the road be widened by 4 feet and that bike lanes be installed on each side of the road. This would both maximize usage and minimize the impact of construction, particularly on the downhill side of the road. I also would suggest that a bike path be installed where the road turns left toward the hospital (as you are traveling down the road toward town) that goes down the hill to the Marolt housing. The fewer bicyclists on the blind curve, the better!
