Letter: Pay to be patriotic

Pay to be patriotic

So, I go to renew my truck’s registration. Should be easy. Nope. I’m told that I can no longer have my 10th Mountain Division plates on my truck, as the government passed a new law. You have to be in the 10th or have been in the 10th to keep them. The lady behind the counter said I can keep them if I make a donation. What? I paid an extra $50 to get them, and now they want an extra donation! Shysters! I’ve had the plates only one year. I was trying to honor the

brave soldiers who trained in our very backyards for mountain warfare in the alps during World War II. For those of you who don’t know, the 10th trained all over Colorado. Vail, Leadville and, yes, Aspen, to name a few.

They had some of the toughest tasks of the war and did so excellently.

Try and be patriotic and get stuffed. Bet they would pay me if I had one in Arabic.
