Letter: Outpouring of love
My family moved here in 2001 after 9/11 after working in downtown New York. Living in Aspen has been incredible — all the obvious beauty and feeling of clean living. Bringing up three daughters here, of which two are gone and one is entering her senior year in high school, has been incredible. Having lived through the loss of many friends and co-workers on 9/11, I have seen funerals and memorials.
Today at the music tent, I have never been more overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and appreciation of a teacher, mother and wife whom I would describe as everything that is good in life. Kellie Schenck, my youngest daughter’s fifth-grade teacher, was as special a person as you will ever meet. She will always be in our hearts!
