Letter: Open minded about church expansion

Listening to the Historic Preservation Commission meeting last week on the St. Mary Catholic Church expansion, I was reminded of two teams going for the Super Bowl.

What I took away from the meeting the most was the commission’s ability to thank the members of the parish and the community for their ability to work well together for a common goal while two different sites were being proposed for the same goal.

We all know Rome was not built in a day, nor will St. Mary’s addition be decided so easily.

Many thanks to Historic Preservation Commissioners Gretchen Greenwood, Patrick Sagal, Bob Blaich, Nora Berko and Michael Brown for their ability to come back and look at different game plans before deciding which will win the Super Bowl. It takes a lot of business acumen — not to mention foresight — to replay the game plans.
